The Department currently offers B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering program (under-graduate), duly Accredited with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Process for NoC to start MS in Electrical Engineering program is underway.
The Department of Electrical Engineering has adopted the Outcome Based Education (OBE) Teaching Learning framework on the direction of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) after it has signed the Washington Accord in 2017. The Washington Accord is an international accreditation agreement for professional engineering academic degrees, between the bodies responsible for accreditation in its signatory countries. Graduates of accredited programs in any of the signatory countries are recognized by the other signatory countries as having met the academic requirements for entry to the practice of engineering. Hence, the degree earned at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the UST Bannu, after Level-II accreditation of PEC will be considered equivalent to a similar degree in the member states of the Washington Accord signatories. The Outcome Based Education (OBE) is a process that involves the restructuring of curriculum, assessment and reporting practices in education to reflect the achievement of high order learning and mastery rather than accumulation of course credit. It’s not what we teach; it’s what the students learn. The OBE is adopted to address mismatches between employers and graduates. Students main concerns are GRADES, Employers are looking for KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE and SKILLS.
