WELCOME TO DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

Dr. Afzal Shah

The Department of Chemistry started functioning in October, 2006 in a small rented building in Bannu Township, Bannu. In the 1st year of its establishment, BS (Hon) and Master of Science in Chemistry were introduced. These programs are offered with terminal system of examinations. Initially specializations of Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, were offered at the Master level. But last year, specializations in Biochemistry and Inorganic / Analytical Chemistry were introduced together with start of M.Phil and P.hD programmes as the qualified staff was inducted gradually.

4 years having 8 terms
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
F.Sc. Pre -Engg/ Pre-Medical / A-Level Examinations, with at least 45% marks plus 45 score in NAT-I of NTS
ANNUAL INTAKE
There are 46 places available annually
 

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

During the last year of BS Program the candidates shall have to undergo (04-06) weeks on non-credit Internship at Industries. A confidential report of the trainee shall be sought from the concerned industry and the trainee shall also submit a brief report of his performance at the organization. In case of dissatisfactory performance, the trainee shall repeat the Internship.

The research facilities for these programs are under establishing phase. There is a constant endeavour to improve and strengthen teaching and research facilities and to create an environment conductive for research activity.
