Between the National Center for Physics, Islamabad and the

University of Science & Technology, Bannu.

 Research Collaboration 

This Memorandum of Understanding (the MoU) is made at Islamabad on this    19th   day   May   2014.

 Between

  National Center for Physics, Islamabad (hereinafter referred to as the "NCR") of the first part, 

 AND 

 The University of Science & Technology, Bannu (hereinafter referred to as the (USTB), of the second part,

WHEREAS recognizing that mutual scientific and technical cooperation will advance the state of science, engineering and technology within the country and strengthen the technological infrastructure and will bring benefits to both sides, do hereby agree to cooperate in future. NCR and USTB undertake to pursue a program of scientific and technical collaboration for the exchange of ideas, skills and techniques on problems of mutual interest as agreed from time to time.

The purpose of this MoU is to provide framework to USTB, and NCR to cooperate and coordinate
with ;each other on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.

A formal Linkage between USTB, and NCR is considered vital to boost research and technical cooperation in the areas of basic and applied physics, to advance the state of science and technology in general and physics in particular within the country and to bring benefit to both sides by sharing resources wherever possible.

NOW, THEREFORE,
both the parties have entered into the Memorandum of Understanding on the following terms:-

1.    Exchange and training of scientific and technical personnel for teaching, research and development in the field of Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Environmental Sciences, Bio-Sciences, Nano Catalysis, and related areas. Boarding and lodging for research visitors, if needed, will be provided by NCR and USTB, in their respective premises.
2.  Joint or co-operated scientific research and technological development programmes in selected areas of mutual interest.

 3.   Holding of joint conferences, seminars, and symposia workshops and invited lectures on national and international level.
4.    Supervision of research students in selected areas of mutual interest.
5.  Visits and use of each other's research, teaching and computing facilities.
6.  Employees of NCR and USTB, will be given concession/relaxation in fees/research expenditures at each other's institute/centre.
7.  Exchange of archives, publications and information.
8. Other mutually agreed academic programs/projects. 

 


 University of Science & Technology Bannu signed the following Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National and International level Universities / organizations:

IIUI, Islamabad:

University of Science and Technology Bannu (UST Bannu) has signed an MoU of mutual cooperation with International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI)

According to memorandum both universities would promote institutional cooperation in education and research especially in the fields of information technology while IIUI would provide assistance to USTB in the fields of Arabic teaching and Islamic studies.

Both Universities also agreed for exchange of faculty members and students and also vowed to organize joint events such as conferences and seminars.

In an MoU signing ceremony, held at Faisal Campus IIUI, President IIUI Prof Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh signed memorandum on behalf of IIUI while Prof Dr. Abdur Rahim Khan, VC USTB, signed MoU on behalf of his university. Vice President Academics IIUI Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan and Director General AF&P IIUI Gulzar Ahmed Khwaja were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Al-Draiweesh welcomed the worthy guest and expressed his immense pleasure over this constructive meeting. He hoped this venture of mutual cooperation would pave the way towards educational harmony. He termed MoU a positive and active omen of collaboration while saying that it will lead both the institutions towards the destination of educational unity, peace and progress.

President IIUI said the academic cooperation would bring harmony and unity between both the universities. ”The MoU would be practical and deliverable, which will be fruitful for both the institutions“. He added. Dr. Al-Draiweesh wished practical mutual cooperation and concrete academic relations between both the universities to learn experiences from each other.

Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Khan in his remarks said MoU would bring both universities close to each other. He said universities can play pivotal role for bringing and disseminating positive and constructive attitudes in the society and this MoU would be proved as a vital step towards this objective.

At the end, university shield and publications were presented by the President IIUI to VC UST Bannu.

UST Bannu has signed an MoU with Campus Consultancy Service, a firm working with top ranking Universities of UK and USA, facilitating the scholars in admissions in as well as accommodation abroad.

Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with University of Huddersfield, UK in order to facilitate the faculty and students in their studies abroad, admissions, joint degrees and research work.

Meteorological Department:

Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with Pakistan Meteorological Department to extend cooperation in the field of research of effects of weathers on various plants and weather forecast.

University of Bradford, UK:

Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with University of Bradford UK in order to facilitate the faculty and students in their studies abroad, admissions, joint degrees and research work.

AIT, Bangkok:

The University of Science and Technology Bannu has signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok for mutual cooperation in Faculty and Students exchange program, collaborative research projects and curriculum development.

IGE, USA:

MoU with the Institute for Global Engagement, USA has been signed. The Institution will facilitate 16 students of this University each year throughout their academic program. The programme also covers establishment of English Language Lab and foreign academic visit of UST Bannu students.

Own a Student Organization:

In order to assist the poor students financially the University of Science and Technology Bannu and Own a Student Organization has signed an MoU. According to MoU the Organization will financially support 10 Students annually on need come merit basis.

National Testing Services:

MoU has been signed with NTS to conduct admission and recruitment test to ensure quality, fair and merit based competitive environment at UST Bannu.
